1] Judgment Day Is The Last Day
There is only ONE last day, and ONE judgment day, which is spoken about in the scriptures
The LAST DAY marks the END of this world [or age]
That is the day when the Lord returns to judge all mankind
It does NOT take place at the end of a one thousand year [earthly millennium]
It DOES take place when the Lord comes back!
John 6:40 And this is the will of HIM that SENT ME, that every one which seeth the SON, and BELIEVETH on him, may have EVERLASTING LIFE: and I will RAISE HIM UP at the LAST DAY.
John 6:44 No man can COME TO ME, except the Father which hath SENT ME draw him: and I will RAISE HIM UP at the LAST DAY.
John 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath ETERNAL LIFE; and I will RAISE HIM UP at the LAST DAY.
2] Two Groups: The Saved and The Lost
Those who received Jesus Christ are SAVED = and will go to be with the Lord forever
Those who rejected Jesus Christ are LOST = and will go to the furnace of fire = forever
And I saw the DEAD, small and great, stand before GOD; and the BOOKS were opened: and another book was opened, which is the BOOK of LIFE: and the DEAD were JUDGED out of those things which were WRITTEN in the BOOKS, according to their works. And the sea gave up the DEAD which were in it; and DEATH and HELL (hades) delivered up the DEAD which were in them: and they were JUDGED every man according to their works. And DEATH and HELL (hades) were cast into the LAKE of FIRE. This is the SECOND DEATH. And WHOSOEVER was NOT FOUND written in the BOOK of LIFE was CAST into the LAKE of FIRE. (Revelation 20:12-15)
Matthew 16:27 For the SON of MAN shall come in the glory of his Father with HIS ANGELS; and then he shall REWARD every man according to his works.
Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I COME QUICKLY; and my REWARD is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Revelation 22:13 I AM ALPHA and OMEGA, the BEGINNING and the END, the FIRST and the LAST.
Revelation 22:16 I JESUS have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I AM the ROOT and the OFFSPRING of DAVID, and the bright and morning star.
Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, SURELY I COME QUICKLY. Amen. Even so, COME, LORD JESUS.
Revelation 22:21 The GRACE of our LORD JESUS CHRIST be with you all. Amen.
As therefore the tares are gathered and BURNED IN THE FIRE; so shall it be in the END OF THIS WORLD. The SON of MAN shall send forth HIS ANGELS, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a FURNACE of FIRE: there shall be WAILING and GNASHING of TEETH. Then shall the RIGHTEOUS SHINE FORTH as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. (Matthew 13:40-43)
The Lord compared the LOST to TARES (weeds)
The Lord compared the SAVED to the WHEAT
The TARES are tossed into the fire while the WHEAT is gathered [saved]
Jesus said that the RIGHTEOUS would SHINE!
The prophet Daniel spoke about TWO different groups [saved and lost]
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth SHALL AWAKE, some to EVERLASTING LIFE, and some to shame and EVERLASTING CONTEMPT. And they that be WISE SHALL SHINE as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to RIGHTEOUSNESS as the stars for ever and ever. (Daniel 12:2-3)
Daniel said that the WISE would SHINE , and Jesus said the RIGHTEOUS would SHINE!
The Jewish apostle Paul = spoke about two different groups
The JUST and the UNJUST
But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a RESURRECTION of the DEAD, both of the JUST and UNJUST. Acts 24:14-15
Peter exalted Jesus Christ [the JUST] who died for the UNJUST
For CHRIST also hath ONCE suffered for sins, the JUST for the UNJUST, that he might bring US to GOD, being put to DEATH in the FLESH, but QUICKENED (MADE ALIVE) by the SPIRIT:1 Peter 3:18
The Lord Jesus Christ compared the FINAL JUDGMENT to a haul of fish in a boat
The GOOD fish were kept but the BAD fish were thrown away
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the GOOD into vessels, but cast the BAD away. So shall it be at the END of THE WORLD: the ANGELS shall come forth, and sever the WICKED from among the JUST, And shall cast them into the FURNACE of FIRE: there shall be WAILING and GNASHING of teeth. (Matthew 13:47-50)
3] All Mankind Will Be Judged On The Same Day
Jesus Christ said he will come again and Judge ALL mankind at the SAME time!
For the SON of MAN SHALL COME in the glory of his Father with HIS ANGELS; and then he shall reward EVERY MAN according to his works. (Matthew 16:27)
The Jewish Apostle Paul said that Judgment happens at the Second Coming
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the LORD JESUS shall be REVEALED from HEAVEN with his MIGHTY ANGELS, In FLAMING FIRE taking VENGEANCE on them that KNOW NOT GOD, and that obey not THE GOSPEL of our LORD JESUS CHRIST: Who shall be PUNISHED with EVERLASTING DESTRUCTION from the presence of the LORD, and from the glory of his power; WHEN HE SHALL COME to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. (2 Thessalonians 1:7-10)
The LORD Gathers His People At His Second Coming!
Now we beseech you, brethren, by THE COMING of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, and by our GATHERING TOGETHER UNTO HIM, (2 Thessalonians 2:1)
And HE shall SEND HIS ANGELS with a great sound of a TRUMPET, and they shall GATHER TOGETHER his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matthew 24:31)
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto THE COMING OF THE LORD shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a SHOUT, with the VOICE of the ARCHANGEL, and with THE TRUMP OF GOD: and the DEAD in Christ SHALL RISE FIRST: Then we which are alive and remain shall be CAUGHT UP together with them in THE CLOUDS, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we EVER BE WITH THE LORD. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18)
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a MOMENT, in the twinkling of an eye, at the LAST TRUMP: for the TRUMPET shall sound, and the dead shall be RAISED INCORRUPTIBLE, and we shall be changed. For this CORRUPTIBLE must put on INCORRUPTION, and this MORTAL must put on IMMORTALITY. So when this CORRUPTIBLE shall have put on INCORRUPTION, and this MORTAL shall have put on IMMORTALITY, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, DEATH is swallowed up in VICTORY. O DEATH, where is thy sting? O GRAVE, where is thy victory? (1 Corinthians 15:51-55)
And then shall HE SEND HIS ANGELS, and shall GATHER TOGETHER his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. (Mark 13:27)
Every EYE Shall SEE The LORD When He Comes In The Clouds!
Behold, HE COMETH with CLOUDS; and EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM, and they also which PIERCED HIM: and all kindreds of the earth shall WAIL because of HIM. Even so, Amen. (Revelation 1:7)
And then shall appear the sign of the SON of MAN in HEAVEN: and then shall all the tribes of the earth MOURN, and they shall see the SON of MAN COMING in the CLOUDS of heaven with power and great glory. (Matthew 24:30)
And then shall they see the SON of MAN COMING in the CLOUDS with great power and glory. (Mark 13:26)
And JESUS said, I AM: and ye shall see the SON of MAN sitting on the right hand of power, and COMING in the CLOUDS of HEAVEN. (Mark 14:62)
And then shall they see the SON of MAN COMING in a CLOUD with power and great glory. (Luke 21:27)
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a CLOUD received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? THIS SAME JESUS, which is taken up from you into HEAVEN, shall SO COME IN LIKE MANNER as ye HAVE SEEN HIM go into HEAVEN. (Acts 1:9-11)
There will be No Secret Invisible Rapture prior to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ!
There will be No Great Stealth Evacuation prior to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ
Beware of “Watchmen” Who Falsely “Prophesy” of Things That NEVER Come To Pass
“But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.” (Deuteronomy 18:20-22)
The Apostle John spoke about that very same day in the Book of Revelation
Jesus Christ showed NO PARTIALITY toward Jew or Gentile
Jesus told his followers to shake the dust of their feet off in any place that rejected His gospel of SALVATION!
And whosoever shall NOT RECEIVE YOU, nor HEAR YOUR WORDS, when ye depart out of that house or city, SHAKE OFF THE DUST of your feet. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of SODOM and GOMORRAH in the DAY of JUDGMENT, than for that city. (Matthew 10:14-15)
The Lord Jesus Christ said that Sodom and Gomorrah would have it easier on Judgment Day than all of those who reject the Gospel that was preached to them!
That applies to ALL who reject Jesus Christ!
That includes both Jew and Gentile [ALL mankind]
And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought DOWN TO HELL: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in SODOM, it would have remained until this day. But I say unto you, That it shall be MORE TOLERABLE for the land of SODOM in the DAY of JUDGMENT, than for thee. (Matthew 11:23-24)
And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for SODOM and GOMORRAH in the DAY of JUDGMENT, than for that city. And they went out, and PREACHED that men should REPENT. (Mark 6:11-12)
How could that be?
Didn’t God judge Sodom and Gomorrah already?
Are they not in eternal torment already?
Yes, Sodom and Gomorrah are cities which the Lord judged by fire [Genesis 19:24-25]
They are presently in a place called Hades and they are in torment
They are there with all who have rejected the Lord since time began
They will end up in the Lake of Fire for eternity, BUT they will still be there on the Final Judgment Day! At the end of time, death and hell (hades) will give up their dead! [Revelation 20:13]
4] Unbelieving Jews Still Reject The Gospel of Jesus Christ
Paul and Barnabas shook the dust off their feet against the unbelieving Jews [Matthew 10:14]
They simply OBEYED what the Lord Jesus Christ told them to do [Matthew 10:14]
They did not teach about a postponement of the Gospel for Jew or Gentile
They told the UNBELIEVING Jews that they JUDGED themselves UNWORTHY of EVERLASTING LIFE! They REJECTED God’s OFFER of EVERLASTING LIFE! That is totally mind-blowing! And yet that is what MOST people actually do!
Paul knew the gospel and what it told him to do = and he did just that!
And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the WORD OF GOD. But when the JEWS saw the multitudes, they were FILLED WITH ENVY, and spake AGAINST those things which were spoken by Paul, CONTRADICTING and BLASPHEMING. Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the WORD OF GOD should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and JUDGE YOURSELVES UNWORTHY of EVERLASTING LIFE, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. For so hath THE LORD commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the GENTILES, that thou shouldest be for SALVATION unto the ENDS of the EARTH. And when the GENTILES heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to ETERNAL LIFE believed. And the WORD OF THE LORD was published throughout all the region. But the JEWS stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the CHIEF MEN of the city, and RAISED PERSECUTION against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts. But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium. And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the HOLY GHOST. (Acts 13:44-52)
Paul warned others about his fellow Jews who killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets!
For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have SUFFERED like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the JEWS: Who both KILLED the LORD JESUS, and THEIR OWN PROPHETS, and have PERSECUTED US; and they PLEASE NOT GOD, and are CONTRARY to all men: FORBIDDING US to speak to the Gentiles that they might be SAVED, to fill up their sins alway: for the WRATH is come upon them to the uttermost. (1 Thessalonians 2:14-16)
Paul followed the example of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who said this to the unbelieving Jews!
O JERUSALEM, JERUSALEM, thou that KILLEST THE PROPHETS, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and YE WOULD NOT! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. (Matthew 23:37-38)
