There are probably many of you out there who wonder if there is in fact a real Devil, and wonder if there really is such a thing as demons. Do not worry, because I too used to be numbered among those people who though the same way. Before I became a true Christian (by spiritual regeneration), better known as becoming born again of the Spirit (John 3:1-8), I used to wonder about the afterlife, eternity and the whole package which included Heaven and Hell, God and the Devil. But in 1989 when I came to know the real Jesus Christ, there was no longer a question about these things because it was the Spirit of the living God, who opened my spiritual eyes to truth. I can attest to you today, that when the Lord opened up my eyes, the scriptures that I would read in the Bible became much more than words on a piece of paper, they became ALIVE to me inside my heart. My heart burned inside me for more of His word, because I knew that it was the pure truth. I knew then that Jesus Christ was truly who He said he was, and that He came down from Heaven above, and that He died in my place for my sins. It was no longer a cute little Bible story, that I hoped was true, but it was a Bible story that I KNEW was true! Not only that, but I knew that there was a battle raging for every soul on planet Earth, and I also knew that the great majority of people in the world had no idea that they were in a lost spiritual condition, and headed for an eternal Hell. I still believe that with every fiber of my being, and that has not changed from the day that I was saved. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that every person in this world must turn to Jesus Christ for the salvation of their soul. That is what it means to “repent and believe the Gospel” (Mark 1:15)
So the main reason that Satan hates this Gospel of Jesus Christ is simply because he knows that eternal life is found only in the person of Jesus Christ. If a person is spiritually DEAD in their sins, Satan will do all that he can do to prevent that person from hearing, and understanding the Word of God, and that is the absolute truth. Are you a Christian? Do you truly LOVE your own children, and your own relatives? Then make sure that you preach the Gospel to them, the same way that you would preach it to everybody else! Why? Because if they are not truly born again of the Spirit (John 3:1-8), and redeemed by the BLOOD of Jesus Christ, then they are as lost as the most vile and wicked sinners in this old world of ours! Do you think for one minute that the powers of darkness (demons) are sitting idly by, while you meet with your UNSAVED friends and relatives? The Devil knows that they need salvation! The Devil knows that many, Christians are ashamed and embarrassed of being rejected by their friends and family and he will use that to intimidate you. If you are truly a Christian then I know that the Spirit of God is prompting you to share the Gospel with them, but that prompting can be easily ignored. Not only that but Satan is the master of deception and distractions, and he will find plenty of other things for you to talk about, other than Jesus Christ. All the tears in the world cannot bring back a person after they are dead and buried, if they die without Jesus Christ, so the most LOVING thing that you can do for them is to warn them about their lost condition. Satan absolutely HATES the soul saving Gospel of Jesus Christ, because it sets men and women free from his Satanic headlock. Am I saying that you are living under Satan’s dominion without Jesus Christ? Yes indeed, that is exactly what I am saying! Satan is the “god of this world” and he is keeping your heart and mind blinded to the truth about Jesus Christ. Here is a passage of scripture to help you understand that better:
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)
Satan the “god of this world” does not want you to understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ, because that would blow his cover, and allow you to see that your soul is in peril, and in danger and headed for an eternal Hell! Satan hates the Word of God when it is preached because it is a life giving, and soul saving nourishment for those who are spiritually DEAD! The Lord Jesus Christ likened the Word of God to seed being sown in a field on DIFFERENT types of soil, which were describing the DIFFERENT types of spiritual hearts and responses to the preaching of God’s Word! Here the Lord explains the seed (of God’s Word) preached to the “wayside hearer”!
The sower soweth the word. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. (Mark 4:14-15)
We learn here that Satan comes along and takes (steals) the Word out of the heart!
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. (Luke 8:11-12)
Here Luke is even more specific, and declares that the Devil takes (steals) the Word of God out of the heart, lest THEY (the hearers) should BELIEVE and be SAVED! It could not have been made any clearer than that. Satan (the Devil) hates your soul so much that he will STEAL the Word out of your heart lest YOU should be SAVED!
Satanic Distractions
Satan is very good at finding things for potential believers to do, and to become involved in, as long as it does not involve the hearing or preaching of God’s Word. Satan will encourage you to do things to gain the attention and praise of man, instead of getting SAVED and doing the Lord’s business. The praise of man can become like an addictive drug for some people, as they live in this world and search for true meaning in this life. The Word of God EXPOSES the Devil for the LIAR that he is, and it directs you to Jesus Christ, the one who DEFEATED all principalities and powers on the cross. Oh friends, you need to know that there is a BATTLE raging for your soul, even though you may not realize it or “feel” it!
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:10-12)
So, given the fact that there is indeed an unseen spiritual world, where the rulers of darkness are working in opposition to the Lord and his people, there is bound to be persecution and trouble in store for the true believer. Listen to what Jesus said about this:
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. (John 15:19-21)
When you open up the book of Acts, you will find persecution, and trouble galore as the true Gospel of Jesus Christ was being preached. What happened when the apostle Paul (formerly Saul) became converted and he began to preach the “faith which once he destroyed” (Galatians 1:23)? I will tell you what happened. All Hell broke out against Paul as his fellow Jewish countrymen (“God’s Chosen People”) desired to KILL him! You can read about it here:
And straightway (immediately) he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God. But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he (Saul/Paul) that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests? But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ (Messiah). And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him: (Acts 9:20-23)
There was a battle raging for the souls of men and women, and Satan was doing all that he could to completely STOP the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Paul was formerly a severe persecutor of Christians UNTIL he was converted one day on the road to Damascus. Paul consented to the DEATH of Christians by his own admission, but then the Spirit of God came INSIDE and changed everything. You can read about Stephen in Acts chapter seven, and you will see that he was killed by his fellow Jewish countrymen as he preached the Word of God to them. (Acts 7:1-60) Stephen was a Holy Ghost filled preacher of the Gospel, (Acts 7: 55) and Satan was very well aware of that fact, and he used the UNSAVED religious people to put him to death. Satan hates the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Satan Uses The Spiritually Blind To Advance His Cause
You would think that a genuine miracle would change the mind of those who are opposed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but unfortunately that is not always the case. After a lame man was healed before a multitude of people (Acts 3:1-4:14), the Jewish religious crowd sought to stop Peter and John from preaching the Gospel to others, even though they KNEW that a genuine miracle had taken place!
But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it. But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. (Acts 4:15-20)
The scriptures tell us that they could not DENY that a miracle had taken place, and yet they still sought to STOP the preaching, and quench the Holy Ghost. Later in the book of Acts you can read about a crowd of people taking their occultic books and literature and burning them after they had seen the power of God’s Word which spoke out against such things!
Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed. (Acts 19:19-20)
I can certainly relate to what those people did when they came to know the Lord, because the Lord delivered me from the occultic bondage of Roman Catholicism, and I also got rid of all my religious stuff, such as medals and rosary beads and other religious trinkets. I also got rid of the “Mary” videos that I used to show to family and friends. These were videos that supported the alleged “apparitions” (appearances) of Mary over in Medugorje, Yugoslavia. When my wife Cathy and I got saved we knew that we had been deceived by the demonic “Messages From Mary” found in those those videos. We also knew (by the Holy Spirit) that all of the other alleged apparitions (from around the world), were totally demonic also. That is what the Spirit of God will do when he comes into a persons life! Satan hates the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but I thank God that the Lord was able to pluck Cathy and I out of his darkness. Satan LOVES religion, BUT he absolutely HATES the true Gospel of Jesus Christ! The apostle Paul was hindered and opposed by the makers of religious IDOLS in his own day in Ephesus, and he almost caused a complete riot when he spoke out against such things.Why? Simply because Satan hates the Gospel of Jesus Christ and he will do all he can to keep people blind to their own UNSAVED spiritual condition! (Acts 19:21-41)
It is sad to say that many who identify themselves as “Christian ministers” hinder the Gospel of Jesus Christ and are actually doing Satan’s bidding when they promote FALSE religion, such as the false Gospel of Roman Catholicism from which the Lord delivered us. It is truly UNBELIEVABLE (and so sad) that TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) actually sold Roman Catholic books by the hundreds on their website, along with Rosary Beads, and books on how to pray the rosary, and books about the Catholic Mass and tons of other stuff. They may have removed those things now, because I no longer see the links to the Roman Catholic items. If that is true I can say “Glory to God” and may he save the millions of precious souls within the Roman Catholic system!
Can you imagine that? The Lord Jesus Christ by the Spirit of the LIVING God, SAVED my soul, and he SAVED Cathy’s soul out from the darkness of Rome, and TBN was peddling their “goods” on their “Christian” website! When you attempt to tell modern day ministers about these things, they look at you like you have ten heads! Why? Because they also have been seduced by the doctrines of devils that the apostle Paul warned us about! They totally ignored the warning which the Holy Spirit spoke through that man of God.
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;” (1 Timothy 4:1)
My Bible warns me to be careful about those who claim to be Christians, but are actually nothing more than wolves in sheep’s clothing! My word to the leaders at TBN them is that they better repent of their wickedness because they are in absolute DEFIANCE to GOD’S WORD when they cavort with people who preach a false gospel! Where is the outcry from the men and women who claim Christ as Lord and Saviour, and claim to be FILLED with the Holy Ghost? Several hundred years ago, tens of thousands, and probably millions of men and women were tortured and burnt at the stake for opposing Rome and it’s false Gospel, while today people are having joint meetings together with them! None at TBN dare call this WICKED, but the Word of God calls it WICKED! None at TBN dare call this APOSTASY, but the Word of God calls it APOSTASY! Lord, please remember those who have laid down their lives against that false religious system, and move in this day on their behalf.
Satan Hates The Blood Of Jesus Christ!
As I get ready to close out this article I encourage you to call upon the name of the Lord for salvation if you do not know him. This word that was given here today was for you too. Either you know the Lord or you don’t. If you do not know the Lord then you are still DEAD in your sins without Jesus Christ. Satan absolutely hates the BLOOD of Jesus Christ, because that is the ONLY thing that will REDEEM your soul from destruction. Do you know that your soul is as valuable to the creator of all things, as any soul in this world? Yes that is true, and the LOVE that God has for you is beyond our own comprehension! Here is a passage of scripture that Satan absolutely hates. Why? Because it is true and can set you FREE!
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. (Romans 5:6-9)
Do not ever forget that Christ DIED for the UNGODLY and that includes every person on planet Earth! There is hope for ALL people, but the problem is that most people do not see their need for salvation, because they think themselves as “good people” who do not need the “crutch” of religion. They are Satan’s favorite kind of people also. In the end it will cost them their very soul!
Satan Hates The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ!
If we were to leave Jesus Christ in the tomb, then we would have no hope at all. I thank God that Jesus Christ is no longer in the tomb, because if he was, we would all be in big trouble! The Good News ladies and gentlemen is that the Lord Jesus Christ got back up from the dead! Hallelujah and Hallelujah again! The true believer in Jesus Christ who has been born again of the Spirit, knows full well that they serve a RISEN SAVIOUR! It took an angel to convince those who found an empty tomb that the Lord had indeed risen from the dead!
He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, (Luke 24:6)
It was the Lord himself who showed up and who spoke to his followers AFTER he rose from the dead! here is what the Lord told his followers!
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Do you want to know IF you can trust the Lord Jesus Christ? How much POWER does the Lord have? He told his followers that he had ALL power! How far does the AUTHORITY of Jesus Christ go, and what parts of the WORLD does this AUTHORITY cover? The Lord declared that his power covered Heaven and Earth! Now that sounds like some REAL POWER! Here is what else the RISEN Lord Jesus Christ said when he spoke to his followers:
Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Mark 16:14-16)
That is the greatest news that a person could ever hear, and IF you are a true believer in Jesus Christ there is NO man on Earth that can condemn you! Not only that, BUT you have Jesus Christ the greatest prayer warrior in the universe interceding for YOU! Hallelujah!
Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. (Romans 8:34)
Why does Satan hate the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Simply because the Lord Jesus Christ SAVES those who hear the preaching of the Gospel, and DAMNS to Hell, the souls who reject Christ and refuse to believe what they have heard!
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. (1 Corinthians 1:18-21)
Call Upon The Lord For Salvation
The Bible tells us that the Lord will SAVE those who call upon him.
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:12-13)
All People Fall Short Of God’s Glory
The reason you need to call upon the Lord for salvation is because you are lost and DEAD in your own sins!
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. (Romans 3:10-11)
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23)
Repent And Believe The Gospel
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. (Mark 1:15)
You Earned The Wages Of Sin But God Offers You Life!
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (1 John 5:10-12)
What You Might Say To The Lord
Here is a simple guide to what you may say to the Lord. This is only a guide, because YOU must call upon the Lord in YOUR own way, and in YOUR own words. You can rest assured that the Lord certainly hears YOUR cry. Only YOU and HIM know whether or not YOU truly mean what YOU say!
Oh Lord, I do thank you for loving me so much that you would die on a cross to redeem and SAVE my wretched soul. I believe that you died on the cross because your word declares it. (Romans 5:6-9, John 19:30) I ask you to forgive me of my sins, and I ask you to SAVE my soul. I desire to spend eternity with YOU in Heaven. I abhor the thought of spending eternity in the everlasting fire, and outer darkness of Hell with the Devil and his angels. (Matthew 25:41) In true repentance I ask you to regenerate me with your Holy Spirit. Oh Lord, I do thank you so much. Amen and Amen.
