Here is a short article which shows us through the scriptures, the distinction between the father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ the Son is NOT the Father!

Here is a passage of scripture from the Book of Revelation that makes it very clear that Jesus Christ the Son, is NOT the Father!

And I saw in the right hand of HIM that SAT on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the ROOT OF DAVID, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, STOOD A LAMB as it had been SLAIN, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And HE CAME and took the book out of the right hand of HIM that SAT upon the throne. And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast SLAIN, and hast REDEEMED us to GOD by thy BLOOD out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; (Revelation 5:1-9)

This is an awesome passage of scripture which shows us very clearly that Jesus Christ the Son, and the Father are NOT the same person. The FATHER is SITTING on the throne, and the LAMB who was SLAIN is STANDING! The FATHER is holding a book in his hand, and waiting for the LAMB (JESUS) to come and take the book out of his hand! There is MOVEMENT in Heaven! The scripture passage makes it very clear that the Lamb was slain, and has redeemed us to God by his blood! Who is that describing? It is describing Jesus Christ of course. There is a clear distinction between the Father and the Son in this passage.

Here is another awesome passage of scripture, which shows us the distinction of persons, in the eternal triune Godhead.

These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, FATHER, the hour is come; glorify thy SON, that thy SON also may glorify thee: As thou hast GIVEN him POWER over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast GIVEN HIM. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true GOD, and JESUS CHRIST, whom thou hast SENT. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O FATHER, glorify thou ME with thine own self with the GLORY which I HAD with thee WITH THEE before the world was. (John 17:1-5)

Jesus Christ, the Son of God was praying to his Father in heaven. He asked the Father to glorify him, with the glory that he already had with the Father, before the world was. This totally eliminates the idea that Jesus Christ began his existence when he was came to this earth! The scripture passage tells us that Jesus possessed the same glory, which the father possessed, before the world had even been created. If JESUS CHRIST had the SAME GLORY as the FATHER, then he must also be GOD (deity). The key word here is the word WITH! Jesus was not known as Jesus Christ before he was manifested in the flesh, but he most certainly was by the Father’s side. Jesus was the WORD of God, who was WITH God, and the one who created all things.

In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was WITH GOD, and the WORD WAS GOD. The same was in the beginning WITH GOD. All things were made BY HIM; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:1-3)

In the book of Hebrews we see the Father referring to the SON as GOD!

But unto the SON he saith, Thy THRONE, O GOD, is FOR EVER and EVER: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of  THY KINGDOM. (Hebrews 1:8)

We can see the distinction between the Father, and Jesus Christ the Son, again when Stephen was about to be killed for his stand for Jesus Christ. The Jewish religious people, who rejected Jesus Christ, went berserk when Stephen rebuked them for being as stiff-necked as their “fathers” were! (Acts 7)

Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the HOLY GHOST: as your fathers did, so do ye. Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it. When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth. But he, being full of the HOLY GHOST, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and JESUS standing on the right hand of GOD, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man STANDING on the right hand of GOD. Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul. And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, LORD JESUS, receive my spirit. (Acts 7:51-59)

Stephen was in the last moments of his life, about he was about to be stoned to death. The Lord allowed Stephen to have a glimpse into Heaven, in a supernatural way, and he saw Jesus, the Son of man, standing on the right hand of God! Do you see that? Once again there is a distinction between the Son, and the Father, even though both are God. Take another look at Revelation Chapter Five and you will see that Jesus, the Lamb, was standing and the Father was sitting on the throne!

Jesus Christ the Son, is NOT the Holy Spirit!

Here is a very interesting portion of scripture that makes it very clear that Jesus Christ is NOT the Holy Spirit!

But when the COMFORTER is come, whom I will send unto you from the FATHER, even the SPIRIT of truth, which proceedeth from the FATHER, HE shall testify of ME: And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with ME from the beginning. (John 15:26-27)

The Lord Jesus Christ spoke those words there, and he is speaking about the Comforter, who is the Holy Spirit. Jesus describes him here as the Spirit of truth, and he uses the word HE to describe him, showing us that HE is a person. The Spirit of truth will TESTIFY of Jesus Christ.  Here is another passage from the very next chapter, which was also spoken by Jesus Christ!

Howbeit when he, the SPIRIT of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all TRUTH: for HE shall not speak of HIMSELF; but whatsoever HE shall hear, that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come. HE shall glorify ME: for HE shall receive of MINE, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the FATHER hath are MINE: therefore said I, that HE shall take of MINE, and shall shew it unto you. (John 16:13-15)

Once again the Lord describes the HOLY SPIRIT as a PERSON, and as the Spirit of truth! The Lord told us that the Holy Spirit would not speak of HIMSELF, and that he would glorify HIM (Jesus)! It could not be made any clearer than it is there in that verse of scripture. The Son of God, Jesus Christ, is NOT the Holy Spirit! The Lord Jesus Christ also mentioned the FATHER in this passage of scripture, and so we see that there is a clear distinction between the three persons in the eternal Godhead!
