The majority of Jewish people in Israel and throughout the world, and the majority of Gentiles (non-Jewish) throughout the word, still reject the Biblical prophecies which were fulfilled in Jesus the Christ (Messiah). Listen to what Jesus told the Jewish religious leaders of his time:
And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. (John 5:37-40)
The people of Israel (for the most part) would not come to the Lord for LIFE! They were DEAD in their own sins, and yet they still rejected the Lord. The Lord told them that God’s Word was not living inside their heart, and that is why they missed this whole thing! If they had truly understood the scriptures, then they would have received the Lord when he came to them.
That should be an inspiration for ALL people throughout the world (Jewish and Gentile) that we study and learn the scriptures for ourselves, so that we do not fall into the same deception that they did! How serious is this whole thing? Jesus told them that they were VOID of the LIFE that they needed. They did not have the EVERLASTING LIFE which was found in HIM! They were on their way to Hell just like most of the rest of the world. I was also numbered among that LOST crowd that was void of EVERLASTING LIFE until I came to the Lord in 1989. I was on my way to Hell in a hand-basket just like the majority of people throughout the world today. (Jewish and Gentile) The Bible tells us that those people who reject Jesus Christ make God out to be a LIAR because they do not believe the report/testimony that God gave of his only Son!
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (1 John 5:9-12)
Here are some of the prophecies which are still rejected by the people of Israel and the majority of Gentiles (non-Jewish): (Example Micah 5:2 = Micah Chapter 5, Verse 2)
PROPHECY = Micah 5:2 = The Birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem
FULFILLMENT = Matthew 2:1-6
PROPHECY = Isaiah 7:14 = Jesus Christ being born of virgin
FULFILLMENT = Matthew 1:18-23
PROPHECY = Zechariah 12:10 = Jesus Christ being pierced on a cross
FULFILLMENT = John 19:32-37
PROPHECY = Zechariah 11:12 = Jesus Christ betrayed for 30 pieces of silver (by Judas Iscariot)
FULFILLMENT = Matthew 26:15
PROPHECY = Psalm 22:18 = Soldiers would cast lots (gamble) for His garments
FULFILLMENT = Mark 15:24
PROPHECY = Isaiah 53:1-12 = Death of Jesus Christ Prophesied 700 years before it happened
FULFILLMENT = Mark 15:24-28, John 19:30
All of these prophecies have already been FULFILLED in Jesus Christ, and yet the people of Israel, and most Gentiles (non-Jewish) still remain obstinate and refuse to come to Jesus Christ for eternal life. I am emphasizing the people of Israel in particular because they were the people who were given the scriptures and yet they still reject Jesus Christ as the Saviour and Messiah, who was sent to them! The scriptures are still read every Sabbath day in their synagogues, BUT they still do not “hear” the “voices of the prophets” within those same scriptures which point to Jesus Christ!
Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent. For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him. And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain. And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre. (Acts 13:26-29)
Light or Darkness?
Life or Death?
Salvation or Damnation?
Heaven or Hell?
