Jesus Christ Is Jehovah!

Jesus Christ is Jehovah! What? Are you trying to tell me that the same Jesus Christ who walked the shores of Galilee is Jehovah? Yup, that is what I am trying to tell you here. In fact the scriptures teach us that very thing. Let the Word of God teach you today!

And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. (Exodus 6:2-3)

If the LORD is JEHOVAH and GOD ALMIGHTY, then JESUS must also be JEHOVAH and GOD ALMIGHTY! Here is the LORD speaking to the Jewish apostle John!

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. (Revelation 1:8)

Here is the LORD talking to John again!

Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. (Revelation 1:11)

Here is the LORD talking to John again!

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (Revelation 1:17-18)

Here is the LORD speaking through the prophet ISAIAH!

Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. (Isaiah 44:6)

The Kingdom Of God Vs The Kingdom Of Darkness

This whole walk with the Lord is not a complicated thing at all. Once a person realizes that they are lost, and dead in their sins, they choose to turn to Jesus Christ for mercy and salvation. After they do this, they suddenly understand that this whole thing is real after all. That new understanding can only come as a result of the Holy Spirit opening the eyes of the new believer in Jesus Christ, because the “natural man” cannot understand these things.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Corinthians 2:14)

When the Bible (God’s Word) speaks about the “natural man”, it is speaking of everybody in the world who do not have the Spirit of the living God dwelling within them. For many of those people this whole thing about being “born again” may pique a little interest for a time, but they cannot comprehend what Christianity is all about. To others this whole thing about being “born again” is nothing but foolishness, and millions upon millions of people cannot believe that so many people would be duped by such nonsense. That type of thinking has been around since the beginning of time, so it is nothing new at all.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18)

The preaching of the cross is pure foolishness to millions upon millions of people, including those religious and spiritual people who would have nothing to do with the worship of Jesus Christ. In the end those same people will see that they were holding on to a false hope, and that they were worshiping a false and imaginary “god” their whole life! They will suddenly understand the absolute wickedness of the Kingdom of darkness, and that the devil plays for keeps. They will suddenly understand the value of their own soul, but it will be too late. That is the reason why people evangelize the lost, because the lost are heading toward an eternal Hell, but they do not believe it.

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. (1 Corinthians 1:21)

How does Almighty God choose to SAVE people? God uses his own WORD which is then preached by simple human beings like you and me. God uses people, like you and me, people who were lost and dead in their sins before they got saved themselves.

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. (1 Corinthians 1:23-24)

To this very day, the preaching of Jesus Christ is a stumbling-block to the majority of Jewish people, both religious and secular. It was during the mid 1990′s and I remember handing a Bible tract to a  religious orthodox Jewish man in downtown Brooklyn, NYC, who I believe was a Rabbi. It was a Bible tract that explained the passover and it’s fulfillment though Jesus Christ. The man looked at it and said “What’s this?” I explained to him that it speaks about Jesus Christ and how he fulfilled the passover. He became very angry and he abruptly handed the tract back to me, and said “You do not sacrifice human beings!” and then he walked away. I remember that I had the total peace of Christ in my heart at that time, and yet I was still heartbroken, because I knew that this man was a lost man. I make no apology for saying things like this, because this is simple basic Christianity. None will enter into the Kingdom of God without Jesus Christ. I will say it again. None will enter into the Kingdom of God without Jesus Christ. It was Jesus Christ who declared the absolute necessity of a person being born again, and he told that to a Jewish ruler.

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:1-3)

A person (the natural man) cannot see (understand) the Kingdom of God unless and until they are born again from above. It has nothing at all to do with a “sacrament” or being baptized as a little baby or even as an adult. It is a  spiritual birth that CANNOT be seen, and Jesus even compared it to the wind that blows. You CANNOT see the wind BUT you CAN see the effects of that wind upon certain things such as flowers and trees.

Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. (John 3:4-8)

There are tens of thousands of men and women who stand in pulpits across the world, who many believe to be Christians but they are not. They have never been born again of the spirit, and they are simply going through the motions. They are still in the kingdom of darkness, and thus they are still under the dominion of the devil and the powers of darkness. They teach and believe that there are many different ways to Heaven and thus they are in opposition to what Jesus Christ himself proclaimed. (John 14:6, Acts 4:10-12)

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

Many of them have their degrees pasted up on their walls for all to see, but the true and living God is not residing inside their heart. God still calls and meets uneducated people wherever they are, and it does not matter how rich or how poor they might be.

For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. (1 Corinthians 1:26-29)

The devil is the “god of this world” and he does not care how he deceives you, as long as you remain deceived. With some people he will use false religion because he is the “god” who is behind it all. With others he will simply destroy them with their own pride and ambition. With others he will destroy them with an abundance of drugs and alcohol, and the pleasures of this short life.

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)

Each of us has the opportunity to make many appointments in this life. We might choose to make an appointment to go visit our hairdresser, or to visit our Doctor, or perhaps to visit our money and investment people. We also have the option of being able to cancel any or all of those appointments, but there is one appointment that you will not be able to cancel, and that is YOUR own appointment with death. Are you ready for that day?

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Hebrews 9:27)

Beware Of Pope Benedict’s Call For “Christian” Unity!

There has been a lot of talk in the past couple of weeks about “Christian” unity, from Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican in Rome. Rome’s call for “Christian” unity has actually been going on for decades, especially since their Vatican II council back in the early 1960′s. As somebody once said to me, “You cannot BEWARE if you are not AWARE!” So my word for you today is to BEWARE of Pope Benedict’s call for “Christian” unity, because it is coming from a religious system that is filled with deception, and is clearly not the gospel which was once delivered to the saints. (Jude 1:3)

Once again I speak here as a former Roman Catholic, who was delivered from that deception myself. I have written about Rome’s many deceptions, which include The Roman Catholic Mass, Purgatory and Mary worship. I have also written here about the gross apostasy with people such as Billy Graham, TBN and others. If you check out the TBN website you will find that they are selling Roman Catholic books by the hundreds, on topics such as the Catholic Mass and how to pray the Catholic Rosary. You can purchase different types of Rosary beads right from their website. People have gotten so used to this sort of thing that nobody even bats an eye anymore. Folks that is called apostasy. So who is responsible for this gross lack of discernment? It begins right there in the pulpit of every church that names the name of Jesus Christ. If a Pastor is a compromiser, then that same Pastor will take his whole congregation down that very same path. When people confront them with these things, they will find a way to talk very spiritual, but the true Christian can see right through it! The late Christian songwriter and evangelist Keith Green was one of the few men of God who saw right through the false system of Roman Catholicism, and he did something even fewer people did. He warned people about Rome simply because he had a LOVE for their souls! Keith knew that a person who was not truly SAVED would end up in Hell for eternity! Keith described the Roman Catholic system as being WICKED!

It is absolutely imperative that a Christian realize that there can never be a unity with a system that preaches a false gospel, because the LORD is not in it. By the way most people do not see behind the smokescreens, and they do not understand that the Pope’s idea of “Christian” unity is one in which HE is the ultimate leader of the “Christian” church. My word for you today is to run from that false unity as quick as you can. If your current church is involved with that type of thing, get out as quickly as possible. Folks, it is going to get worse, and it is going to get worse quickly! Not only that but the Roman Catholic Church still pronounces over 100 curses (anathemas) against Bible believing, Jesus loving Christians such as myself who disagree with their false teachings. Those curses can be found in the Council of Trent which were absolutely upheld by the Vatican Council II in the early 1960′s. The Biblical curse that is still in effect for systems such as Roman Catholicism can be found in the book of Galatians, and it was written by the Jewish apostle Paul, who was saved from the deception of the Judaism which rejected Jesus as Messiah!

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:8-10)

The Bible Says That The Wrath Of God Is Upon Those Who Do Not Believe In Jesus Christ!

When we think about the wrath of God we often think about the time when God judged Sodom and Gomorrah and poured out his wrath upon them. It really happened:

Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. (Genesis 19:24-25)

I can remember watching a movie as a young lad, and I believe the title was simply “Sodom and Gomorrah.” The one thing that I never forgot was when Lot’s wife turned into a pillar of salt after she disobeyed the Lord and looked back.

But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. (Genesis 19:26)

It really happened!

Did you know that the wrath of God is upon every person in this world who does not believe (have faith) in Jesus Christ, the Son of God? That is exactly what the Bible tells us:

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36)

That was written by the Jewish apostle John, and that is just as true as anything else that is written in the scriptures. The majority of people in the world do not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. That list would include the Jewish people, the Muslim people, the Hindu people and the people of Buddhism. That would also include tens of thousands of other religious cults and sects, including false “Christian” churches who preach a false and bogus Gospel. The apostle John was merely telling the truth and giving support to the words of Jesus Christ himself:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:16-18)

Jesus Christ, the creator of ALL things (John 1:1-3) told us that those who believe in him have everlasting life, BUT those who do not are already condemned. Jesus made it clear that his purpose was NOT to condemn the world, BUT that the world might be SAVED through him. Every person has a choice, and every person will answer to God as an individual. Do YOU believe those words that Jesus Christ spoke all those years ago, or do YOU reject them?

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (1 John 5:10-12)

Israeli Pre-emptive Attack On Iran? Would Jesus Christ Support It? (A Modern Day Wake-Up Call)

Once again there is a lot of talk about Israel and a possible pre-emptive attack on Iran. There was similar talk going on several years ago, when Pastor John Hagee  was calling for a pre-emptive attack on Iran, back in 2007 as can be seen here in this PBS VIDEO   Let us stop and think about this for a few seconds at least. When planes are dispatched into the air, and bombs are dropped, then there is a great chance that  many innocent civilians will be maimed for life, or even worse, simply killed. Do you remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan? What would Jesus, the Messiah and Son of God, do in such a situation as this? Would Jesus support Israel if they eventually considered the option to attack Iran, and followed through with it? I say no. Suppose it was reversed and Iran decided to attack Israel in similar fashion, would Jesus the Messiah support the attack? I say no. Listen to what Jesus had to say about his kingdom which is spiritual in nature:

Jesus answered, MY KINGDOM is NOT of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. (John 18:36)

You see that Jesus the Messiah, was very concerned for souls, (and we should be too) and he knew that any soul (Jewish or Gentile) who died without Jesus Christ would die in their sins, and spend an eternity in a very real place called Hell. Jesus was never partial in his dealings with people, and he certainly did not exalt his own Jewish people to a higher place than any other group of people. He wanted them to know and believe in him, and the message was “repent and believe the Gospel” (Mark 1:15) When Jesus spoke with Nicodemus, the Jewish ruler, he told him that it was necessary for him to be born again of the Spirit in order to enter the Kingdom of God. (John 3:1-8) It is sad, but the majority of Jewish people refused to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, and are still outside his kingdom, and the scriptures are also very clear about that.

He came unto his own, and HIS OWN RECEIVED HIM NOT. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:11-12)

His own (Jewish people) did not receive his testimony, and therefore they rejected him. This is not something to be taken lightly, because the scripture tells us that those who RECEIVED Jesus, were the ones who became the sons (children) of God. That group includes any person, from any part of the world, and that also includes the people in Iran, as well as the people in Israel, and everywhere else. God loved all of those people enough, that he sent his Son to die for their sins. (John 3:16-21, Romans 5:6-9, Isaiah 53:1-12) but they do have a choice as to whether they will RECEIVE Jesus for themselves. True salvation comes when a person realizes the desperate and lost condition of their own soul, and they call upon the Lord for salvation. (Romans 10:10-13)

 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come. Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come. And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for IF YE BELIEVE NOT that I AM HE, YE SHALL DIE IN YOUR SINS. (John 8:21-24)

When Jesus the Messiah spoke to his own Jewish people, he did not hold anything back, and here he tells them that that he was going to a place to which they could not come. He was talking about going back to Heaven (He was about to be killed), and he told them that if they did not believe in him (as Messiah) they would NOT be there. They would simply die in their sins and continue on into eternal darkness. At one of the CUFI (Christians United For Israel) events a few years ago U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman, a religious Jewish man, compared Pastor John Hagee to Moses, and the leader of a great multitude. Senator Joseph Lieberman also referred to John Hagee as a true man of God as you can see here in this VIDEO  The only problem here is that Senator Joseph Lieberman does not belong to the group of people who have received the testimony of Jesus Christ. (John 1:11-12) Senator Joe still rejects Jesus as being the Messiah, and he has written a book co-authored by David Klinghoffer, another Jewish man who does not believe that Jesus is the Messiah. In fact Senator Joe mentioned Moses in his address to the people gathered at that CUFI convention, but if he truly believed Moses, then he would have received Jesus Christ! Listen to what Jesus told the Jewish people when he walked the earth:

Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, EVEN MOSES, in WHOM YE TRUST. For had ye believed MOSES, ye would have BELIEVED ME: for HE WROTE OF ME. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words? (John 5:45-47)

I want you to notice something here. Senator Joe Lieberman and David Klinghoffer both reject Jesus as the Messiah, and they certainly have the freedom to make that choice, but according to the scriptures they are out of the will of the true and living God. I am still amazed that people such as Senator Lieberman are permitted to address Christians, who supposedly know that Jesus is the only way of salvation (John 14:6, Acts 4:10-12), and yet be whipped up into a frenzy, waving Jewish and American flags, when Pastor John Hagee and others call for a pre-emptive attack on Iran. I call that deception, and I call that seduction. Not only that, but the Bible tells us that those people who do not believe that Christ (Messiah) has come in the flesh, are of an anti-christ spirit! (1 John 2:18,22, 4:3, 2 John 1:7) So now we have people such as Senator Joe Lieberman, who clearly does not believe that Jesus is the Christ (Messiah) come in the flesh, speaking to “Christians” and applauding the efforts of people like John Hagee, in calling for a pre-emptive attack on Iran! My bible declares the following:

BE YE NOT UNEQUALLY YOKED  together with UNBELIEVERS: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that BELIEVETH with an INFIDEL? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. (2 Corinthians 6:14-16)

There are countless millions who are sitting in Christian churches who have been brainwashed (seduced and deceived) into believing that the Jewish people are somehow still in covenant with the true and living God, without Jesus Christ, as if there were two different plans of salvation. But that is not what the real Jesus Christ taught at all. Jesus knew that the prophets of old spoke and testified about his coming, and he was gracious enough to tell them that:

And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES; for in them YE THINK ye have ETERNAL LIFE: and they are they which TESTIFY OF ME. And YE WILL NOT COME TO ME, that ye might have LIFE. (John 5:37-40)

The scriptures in the Old Covenant (Testament) testify and speak about Jesus Christ. The Old Covenant spoke about the promises, and the New Covenant speaks about the FULFILLMENT in Jesus Christ.

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these LAST DAYS spoken unto us BY HIS SON, whom he hath appointed HEIR OF ALL THINGS, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (Hebrews 1:1-3)

Did you catch that? God has been speaking to us by HIS SON for nearly two thousand years now. All people need to take heed to what the Son is proclaiming. If you reject the voice of the Son of God, then you reject salvation and heaven itself. There is not a postponement of God’s plan of salvation for the Jewish people. The wall of separation between Jew and Gentile has been knocked down at the cross of Christ. (Ephesians 2:11-22) The time of their visitation came almost two thousand years ago, and God is still calling them, and the rest of the world to repentance and faith in him. John the Baptist called the religious Jewish people of his time serpents (snakes), and he was not at all impressed with their claims to be “children of Abraham.”

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: And THINK NOT to say within yourselves, WE HAVE ABRAHAM TO OUR FATHER: for I say unto you, that GOD IS ABLE of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. (Matthew 3:7-10)

The bottom line in this whole thing is that the true and living God, is not going to back an attack on a country simply because it is His “Chosen People” Israel doing the attacking, or simply because “Pastor America” declares that it is God’s will to attack! I do not know what is going to happen over there in the Middle East, but I somehow get the feeling that things might get out of hand if there is an attack. I even wonder if it was the providence of God, that there was a National Emergency Test held in our own country recently. The only thing that I do know for sure, is that when a person dies without Jesus Christ, they die without the hope, mercy, and grace that God so freely offered to them. (1 Corinthians 2:12)

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that BELIEVETH NOT not God hath made him a LIAR; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (1 John 5:10-12)

I saw a  video news report some months ago about a family that purchased a home that was infested with snakes. It turns out that they signed off on a house that they knew had snakes on the outside, but they were unaware to the larger extent of the problem. It turns out that the snakes were living inside the walls of the whole house, and they could hear them crawling inside the walls. I listened to the heartbreaking account from the man who purchased the home with his wife, as he told the reporter that the water from the faucets tasted exactly like the smell of the snakes. Their own lawyers told them that they had little recourse because they had signed off on the snakes outside the home when they bought it. The modern day church, and it’s compromising “leaders” signed off on the snakes many decades ago, being totally unaware to the larger extent of the problem. The snakes (apostates and unbelievers) have slowly infested the whole “house of God” so to speak, to the extent that even the “water” flowing from the pulpits has the very same taste and smell, as the snakes that have infested it! Jesus the Messiah said this:

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the CHILDREN OF THEM which KILLED THE PROPHETS. Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. YE SERPENTS, (SNAKES)YE GENERATION OF VIPERS (SNAKES), how can ye escape THE DAMNATION OF HELL? (Matthew 23:29-33)

Is Mormonism A Cult? Is The Jesus Christ Of The Mormons A Counterfeit? (Their Teachings Compared With The Bible)

You  have probably heard or read about the Mormons and their Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter day Saints. In this article I will give you a very brief background of how their church came about, and what they teach about Jesus Christ. You will see that the Mormon Jesus, and the Jesus of TRUTH, are not the same Jesus!

 I will be quoting from a book that I bought many years ago, (probably out of print) entitled “Counterfeits At Your Door” by James Bjornstad. That book covers both the counterfeit group known as the “Jehovah’s Witnesses” and the counterfeit group known as the “Mormons.”

“Mormonism traces its lineage back to Jesus Christ Himself, and beyond that to the true Jewish (Old Testament) religion. Within this history, Mormonism claims that churches had been existing outside the “true” faith for centuries until Joseph Smith Jr whom Mormons revere as a prophet of God, restored the one true church of Christ. Mormonism claims to be the one true church.” [Counterfeits At Your Door, James Bjornstad page 100, Regal Books 1979]

I find this very interesting because the Roman Catholic Church also makes the claim that they are the “one true Church” and many follow her and her false doctrines. I truly believe that many are swayed because of the largeness of that system and somehow think that they cannot be wrong. So here we have the claim made by the Mormons that they are the one true church also.

 ”On September 21, 1823, while Joseph Smith, Jr was in prayer in his room, the angel Moroni appeared to him and told him of some gold plates. Moroni claimed they contained “the fullness of the Gospel” as revealed by Jesus Christ to earlier inhabitants of this continent” [Counterfeits At Your Door, James Bjornstad page 101, Regal Books 1979]

 ”In June, 1829, the work of translating the plates was completed and soon the first edition of the Book of Mormon was ready. It should be noted that the plates are no longer in existence, Joseph Smith having claimed he returned them to the angel Moroni when the translation was complete.”

 ”At a formal meeting in the home of Peter Whitmer, Sr, in Fayette, New York on April 6, 1830, the one true church was organized in the State of New York. The Church of Christ (later named the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) came into existence.” [Counterfeits At Your Door, James Bjornstad page 102, Regal Books 1979]

‘Keep in mind that there are several groups which are called Mormon . . . There have been, perhaps, as many as a 100 off-shoots from the original church. These groups have all have two things in common: They accept Joseph Smith Jr. as a prophet of God and the book of Mormon as the word of God-hence they are called Mormons. However, each group claims to be the only true church, rejecting all the others as apostates, and each one has some differences in doctrine and practice from the others.’

 ”Keep in mind that the material presented in this section is that of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints whose headquarters is in Salt Lake City, Utah. This is the largest group of Mormons and the fifth largest religious group in the United States.”[Counterfeits At Your Door, James Bjornstad page 104, Regal Books 1979]

 ”From the very beginning, Mormons said the Bible is unreliable, even though it is used by them and they lay claim to being biblical. The eighth Article of Faith in Mormonism states, “We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly.” Mormonism, in reality needs an unreliable Bible because the Bible contradicts almost all of Mormonism’s doctrines and practices. Mormons are taught that the Catholic Church corrupted the texts so that the Bible cannot always be trusted. This means that when you share your faith with Mormons, whenever a passage from the Bible contradicts their belief, they will think that passage is one of the places in which the text of the Bible has been corrupted.” [Counterfeits At Your Door, James Bjornstad page 104-105, Regal Books 1979]

Mormonism has a lot in common with the false religious system of Roman Catholicism from which the Lord delivered me. The Mormons have their “Book of Mormon” while the Roman Catholic Church has their man-made tradition along with the Magisterium, which is the teaching office of the church. They are the ones who the church depend on for the interpretation of the scriptures. They put their own man-made tradition on an equal level with the scriptures, and they claim that their own tradition, the Magisterium, and the Bible work together. I thank God for the true Christian reformers who stood against Rome, and made it possible for the common man to have the scriptures in their hand. Many millions have come to be born again of the Spirit, the true Biblical way, because they were able to read the scriptures for themselves without the interpretation of a Roman Catholic Magisterium. I am happy to say that I one of those many millions.

 The Mormon Jesus: The Spirit Child

 ”According to the Mormons, Jesus Christ is a created being. He is the “First born Spirit Child of a long line of children who were sexually conceived in spirit form by a Heavenly Father who is the God of this universe, and a Heavenly Mother. In fact, all people-Jesus, Lucifer, we and others who have lived and will live on earth-were first born in spirit form in heaven. Jesus being the first born is our eldest brother.”

 ” . . . Jesus was conceived by the Heavenly Father, a god of flesh and bones, through sexual relations with Mary, an earthly woman. The only difference between Jesus and any other human is that his Heavenly Father (Father God who has a body) was literally his earthly father, who conceived him in the physical world as well.” [Counterfeits At Your Door, James Bjornstad page 110-111, Regal Books 1979]

 If you are a true born again, Bible believing Christian, you may be shaking your head in disbelief at the teachings of the Mormons. I find it absolutely incredible that people believe those doctrines, and I find it still more amazing that many “Christian” leaders do not seem to have a problem with their teachings. Many “Christian” leaders, and other false unity ministers, use cute little sayings (which were birthed in Hell) such as this “We agree to disagree” or “We take different roads, but we will all end up in the same place, Heaven” Can you imagine Jesus telling the devil that they would simply agree to disagree?

The truth of the matter is this. If you are following a counterfeit Jesus, then it is impossible for you to enter Heaven. You most certainly will not be there. The Jesus of the Mormons is a counterfeit Jesus, and he does not exist at all. The real Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, and He has always existed. The apostle John described Him this way:

The Bible: The REAL Jesus Christ

Here are some scriptures from the Bible (Word of God) that reveal to us the REAL Jesus Christ. These same scriptures can be used to refute other cults such as the “Jehovah’s Witnesses” and others. These same scriptures can be used to refute false religious systems such as Islam, who do not even believe that God has a Son!

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:1-3)

The real Jesus Christ did not attain unto “godhood” through his consistent effort as the Mormons also teach their followers. Jesus Christ is God. The scripture passage above makes it so clear that the Word was with God and that the Word was God!  The Word is describing Jesus Christ the eternal Son of God! So how do we know that the Word is talking about Christ?

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

The Word (Jesus Christ) became FLESH (born of the virgin) and He partook of our humanity so that we might be SAVED! The following verses of scripture (Hebrews 2:9,14) show us the very REASON why the WORD (Jesus Christ) was made flesh! Do not miss these verses of scripture, and meditate on what they are saying!

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. (Hebrews 2:9)

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; (Hebrews 2:14)

The real Jesus Christ is part of the eternal triune Godhead, and He came to this earth, being born through the womb of a Jewish virgin named Mary.

And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:28-35)

You can get a good glimpse of the eternal triune Godhead in the following scripture verse from the prophet Isaiah, which was written hundreds of years before Christ came to this earth:

Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me. (Isaiah 48:16)

 The real Jesus Christ declared Himself to be the First and the Last, in the first chapter of Revelation:

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (Revelation 1:17-18)

Did you notice that this First and the Last declared that He was DEAD at one point in time? Who do you think that is talking about? Jesus Christ of course! That same First and Last is now alive for evermore.

Isaiah the prophet also spoke about the First and the Last:

Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. (Isaiah 44:6)

Not only does the First and Last describe Himself as the King of Israel, Redeemer and the Lord of hosts, but He declares that there is NO god beside Him! To reject Jesus Christ as God is to call God a liar! We all know that Christ is the one who came to redeem us from our sins.

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: (1 Peter 1:18-19)

 This same First and Last is also the Alpha and Omega:

 ” . . . I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last . . . (Revelation 1:11)

 The Alpha and Omega is also called the Almighty:

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. (Revelation 1:8)

The real Jesus Christ of the scriptures describes the Jesus that every living human being in this world needs in order to be saved. The Mormons are not alone in their false doctrines concerning Jesus Christ. The people of Islam (the Muslims) believe that Jesus Christ is nothing more than a prophet, and they do not even believe that God has a Son. They too, need to repent and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (Mark 1:15) The Jewish people do not believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Messiah who was sent into this world. They too must repent and believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ or they will never see Heaven.  This obviously only touches on a small portion of the false doctrines of Mormonism but there is enough here to make anyone take notice.

 Here are two ACTUAL QUOTES from Jesus Christ after He rose from the dead!

” . . .   All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)

” . . .   Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” (Mark 16:15-16)

What If There Is No Such Place As Purgatory?

Is there really a place called Purgatory?

Is this place just an invention and tradition of the Roman Catholic Church?

What if there is no such place as Purgatory?

Today I would like to talk about the Roman Catholic teaching of Purgatory. First of all I would like to quote from two of their catechisms, regarding this topic:In The New Saint Joseph Baltimore Catechism there is a little section entitled PURGATORY IS GOD’S HOSPITAL and it declares that ‘Purgatory is God’s Hospital for souls, where those who do not love God enough to enter heaven are cured by fire…Then they must go to purgatory, where they will have to suffer much more intensely than they would have if they had accepted the sufferings on earth…In purgatory, God’s cleansing fires burn away the souls selfishness till its love becomes perfect and it is ready to fly to heaven. Its suffering only purify love, they don’t increase it. [The New Saint Joseph Baltimore Catechism, Catholic Book Publishing Co., NY 1969, Imprimatur: Francis Cardinal Spellman]The Catechism Of The Catholic Church of 1994 confirms the above in a section entitled THE FINAL PURIFICATION, OR PURGATORY

1030: all who die in God’s grace, and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven

1031: The church gives the name Purgatory to this final purification of the elect, which is entirely different from the punishment of the damned. The church formulated her doctrine of faith on Purgatory especially at the Councils of Florence and Trent. The tradition of the Church, by reference to certain texts of scriptures, speaks of a cleansing fire…. [The Catechism Of The Catholic Church, Doubleday Publishers NYC, Paperback Edition, 1995, page 191, Imprimi Potest: Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger]

I wanted to quote from those two catechisms to present the Roman Catholic teaching regarding this place called Purgatory, so that you could read it for yourself. I am a former Roman Catholic who came to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour in 1989, and you can  read my testimony or listen to my:testimony on Audio .There has never been a place called Purgatory and there never will be a place called Purgatory. It does not exist. If you search the scriptures you will not find this place in there at all. My purpose in writing this article is to dispel this false teaching which provides a false hope to the millions upon millions of precious souls within the Roman Catholic system.Jesus Christ spoke about salvation and damnation, light and darkness, life and death, and heaven and hell but He never offered even a hint about a place called purgatory. Listen to Jesus here:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:16-18)

Here Jesus speaks about the love of God toward the people of the world, and He declares that God sent His Son into the world to save the world. Jesus also made it very clear that the person who did not believe in the Son (Himself) was condemned already. There was not even a hint about a purifying fire for either the believer or unbeliever from the mouth of Jesus Christ. Jesus made it clear that faith in Him was the determining factor of whether a person was saved or condemned.Here is another passage from the Bible where Jesus speaks about salvation and damnation after He rose from the dead:

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Mark 16:15-16)

Once again the focus is on the faith of the individual. The believer will be saved and the unbeliever will be damned.Listen to the words of a criminal who repented during the final moments of his life, as he spoke with Jesus from a cross:

And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. (Luke 23:39-43)

Jesus promised this criminal that he would be with Him in Paradise on that very day! I am sure that this criminal had a love that was less than perfect toward God, but Jesus promised that man Paradise. Jesus never mentioned a place called Purgatory or a suffering that needed to take place after he died because that place does not exist. Salvation has always been based upon the faith of the individual in the living God. That criminal could do absolutely nothing to save himself at that point in his life. He could not do any good works. He could not wiggle down off that cross to be baptized either. The only thing that he could do was the thing that he did and that was to put his faith in Jesus Christ before he died. The criminal made a genuine turn in his heart toward the Lord and he genuinely repented of his own sin. The criminal acknowledged that he deserved to be there ‘for we receive the due reward of our deeds…’ and the proof that it was genuine was the fact that the Lord promised that man that he would go to paradise with Him on that very day.

The Catholic Mass And Purgatory

Many people do not realize that the Roman Catholic Mass is considered a ‘propitiatory sacrifice’ that is offered to God for both the living and the dead, which would include those souls in Purgatory. In fact the Roman Catholic Council of Trent has pronounced many anathemas (curses) against those people who would not agree with their teachings on those subjects. Those anathemas are still in effect today and do not let anybody tell you otherwise.

People can have a Roman Catholic Mass said by a priest for a deceased friend or relative. A Catholic can go their local church and make a request for a Mass to be said on behalf of their loved one who may be in Purgatory. In the 1960′s I used to go to the local rectory to make a donation for a Mass card when somebody we knew had died. There were two types of Mass cards. One was a simple looking card with a suggested donation of one dollar and the other one was a much thicker one with a nice case for a suggested donation of five dollars. I cannot imagine what the Mass card donation might be today.

Here are two of those anathemas (curses):

Canons on The Sacrifice Of The Mass

Canon 1: If anyone says that in the mass a true and real sacrifice is not offered to God, or that to be offered is nothing else than that Christ is given to us to eat, let him be anathema.

Canon 3: If anyone says that the sacrifice of the mass is one only of praise and thanksgiving; or that it is a mere commemoration of the sacrifice consummated on the cross but not a propitiatory one; or that it profits him only who receives, and ought not to be offered for the living and the dead, for sins, punishments, satisfactions, and other necessities, let him be anathema.

The one thing that I want you to see here is that the teaching of Purgatory cheapens the Gospel of Jesus Christ. How many masses must be said by family members before a soul is set free from Purgatory? How many hundreds of years must a soul remain in Purgatory? These are answers that you will never know and people will still continue to have masses said for there loved ones because of that.

Trust me! If the blood of the sinless, perfect Son of God, Jesus Christ cannot perfectly atone for your sins, then there is nothing in this universe that can do it.

I do not believe that the mass is a propitiatory sacrifice and I do not believe that there is any benefit at all in the Roman Catholic mass, so according to their teaching I am anathematized. I do believe what the scriptures tell me such as the following:

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. (Romans 5:8-9)

Many people who do not come from a Roman Catholic background have no idea about these things. They have never been inside the funeral parlor to listen to the prayers for the people who have already died, who are offered hope for escape from this land of make believe. There are millions of Roman Catholic people who think that they have a second chance after death, after they go to Purgatory when somebody else will have a Mass said for them to shorten their time there. I know because I was one of them.

Mary Worship And Purgatory

There are also millions of Catholics who believe that their stay in Purgatory will be shortened because they had a devotion to Mary the Blessed Mother and because they wore the brown scapular around their neck. The brown scapular is made up of two pieces of cloth, usually wrapped in a plastic to protect it, and held together with string. It forms a circle which is then draped over the wearers head.

Pope John XXII declared that he had a vision of the Virgin Mary in which she said the following concening those who wore the brown scapular:

” I the Mother of grace, shall descend on the Saturday after their death and whomsoever I shall find in Purgatory, I shall free, so that I may lead them to the holy mountain of life everlasting”

There were many people who were martyred during the middle ages because they refused to believe teachings such as Purgatory.

Martin Luther was absolutely outraged when a man named John Tetzel went preaching in the towns and villages throughout Germany raising money for the building of St Peter’s Basilica in Rome. John Tetzel was peddling indulgences with the approval of Pope Leo X and providing them with a false hope beyond the grave. There was a money chest which was carried during these fund raisers and Tetzel urged the people to contribute by saying:

“As soon as the coin in the coffer rings , the soul from Purgatory springs”

This is spiritual fraud at its worst. I wonder how many sincere people were swayed by that man Tetzel to give up their money, hoping that one of their loved ones would escape the torment of this place that has never existed. It is absolutely mind boggling that the teaching of Purgatory is still around in modern times.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (Gentile). (Romans 1:16)
