DID ISRAEL PUT JESUS CHRIST TO DEATH?

The scriptural evidence regarding the death of Jesus Christ is simply overwhelming. The Lord Jesus Christ came unto his own people, and yet, for the most part they rejected Him.

THE MAJORITY OF JEWISH PEOPLE REJECTED JESUS CHRIST

He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:11-12)

JESUS PROPHESIED HIS OWN DEATH AT THE HANDS OF JEWISH LEADERS

From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. (Matthew 16:21)

And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. (Mark 8:31)

And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him, Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles: (Mark 10:32-33)

THE JEWISH LEADERS QUESTIONED THE AUTHORITY OF CHRIST

And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority? (Matthew 21:23)

THE JEWISH LEADERS REJECTED THE DEITY OF CHRIST AND THEREFORE WANTED TO KILL HIM

And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day. But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. (John 5:16-18)

I and my Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. (John 10:30-33)

And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the LORD, shall be put to death. (Leviticus 24:16)

JESUS KNEW THE HOUR OF HIS BETRAYAL AND DEATH WAS NEAR

And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples, Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified. Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him. (Matthew 26:1-4)

ISRAEL’S  PROPHETS PREDICTED THAT JESUS THE CHRIST  (MESSIAH) WOULD BE KILLED

Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. (Luke 18:31)

THE JEWISH HIGH PRIEST PUT JESUS TO DEATH BECAUSE JESUS SAID HE WAS THE CHRIST [MESSIAH]

And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none. For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together. And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying,  We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands. But neither so did their witness agree together. And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses? Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death. (Mark 14:55-64)

THE JEWISH LEADERS PAID JUDAS ISCARIOT THIRTY PIECES OF SILVER  TO BETRAY JESUS THUS FULFILLING AN OLD TESTAMENT PROPHECY

When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death: And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. (Matthew 27:1-4)

And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD. (Zechariah 11:12-13)

THE APOSTLE PETER DECLARED THAT ISRAEL CRUCIFIED JESUS

Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:10-12)

These are actual quotes from the Bible (the Word of God) and they clearly show us that Jesus Christ was rejected for the most part by the Jewish people.

The scriptures clearly show us that the Jewish leaders rejected the authority and deity of Jesus Christ and considered it blasphemy.

Has anything changed?

The majority of Jewish people still reject the authority of Jesus the Christ

The majority of Jewish people still reject the deity of Jesus the Christ

The majority of Jewish people still reject that Jesus is the Christ (Messiah)

The words of the apostle Peter still stand true to this day, and Jesus the Christ (Messiah) is still the only way of salvation!
